"On Saturday, in rain showers, more than 150 people - family members, friends, former faculty, current faculty and staff and students were in attendance as New Hampton School dedicated its newest dorm, Rice House. There wasn't a dry eye to be seen as several former students spoke in tribute to the honoree and his impact upon the course of their lives. When the Chairman of the board unveiled the cast bronze Rice House Plaque with the bas relief portrait of the late David Rice and next presented the memento plaque to the family, the applause was long, enthusiastic and sincere. The cast bronze plaque remained on display throughout the day and will soon be attached to the outside of the dormitory in a prominent spot on an open porch at the front entrance.
The donor who asked us to have the plaques created was absolutely thrilled with your work, and the Rice family was delighted to have such a unique memento of the occasion. Thank you so much not only for pushing the production through in good time, but also for assistance with the text and patience with all of my phone calls. Working with you was a pleasure and I especially appreciate your accessibility, knowledge and dependability.
